Description

Boating safety is not necessarily what most people think about when purchasing a boat. The most important thing on everyone’s mind is how much fun and enjoyment the new boat is going to bring to their lives. So how does it go so drastically wrong? This presentation will address the key safety information that most overlook when heading out on the water and how fun and enjoyment can quickly turn into an emergency situation. A review of boating incidents and fatality and drowning stats will highlight the areas where people find themselves in trouble and how having what they need in an emergency can mean the difference between a life saved or a recovery mission. There are many ways Transport Canada and SAR agencies can partner together to change behavior and spread awareness.
